I have been working with Rosa Parker of Community connections to set up the Techy Teas, which is a project to help elderly people with their internet surfing skills, mainly using tablets. This is quite similar to the Silver Surfers project, except that it runs once a month, and it moves to different centres in the borough of Lewisham.  We are using Mifi (mobile wifi devices) and mobile tethering (because I have recently found out I am using a very small amount of the data allowance on my mobile devices), so that we can set up a session in any community centre, even if it doesn't have an internet connection. Hopefully using this method we can reach a lot of people who wouldn't get this service otherwise.
